This amendment is not in the Hongkong Ordinance.It enlarges the definition of the circumstanc -es under which a male person may be deemed to be living on the earnings of prostitution; a use- -ful amendment.

The Hongkong penalty is only 3 months: but it may be observed that a person convicted could be banished if not a natural born or naturalised British subject Section 17 (4) Ordinance 4 of 1897. A useful amendment.

Deals with Ireland.

This sub-section touches the female who controls prostitutes. It may be observed generally as mentioned above that the powers in Hongkong of dealing with brothels are greater than those possessed in England.A useful Amendment.

This makes it possible for a male or female to be proceeded against by indictment for living on or controlling prostitutes for f gain and in this way becomes Tiable to a sentence of two years and for a second offence the offender if a male can be also flogged. A useful clause.
